GPOYW Once upon a time I went to Barcelona edition.
I made a video. Yay, etc.
Zet asked me to do Spaces, a project which showcases a person’s place in the world, exploring their homes, places they’re comfortable in, or what their idea of a space is. I decided to execute her request in video form, and this is the result. I did this while I was in Bahrain, so it’s where I grew up rather than where I am now.
How shall the heart be reconciled
to its feast of losses?
The Layers by Stanley Kunitz, read by me. This might be one of the more pretentious things I’ve done on this website, but I wanted to share this poem and explain how much I adore it, but I couldn’t seem to do it justice. So I decided to read it out and hope that despite that I’ve never been a good reader aloud, it would convey how much I love this poem.
I carry this poem around with me everywhere. Quite literally — I have it printed out and it’s tucked into my notebook, with highlights and scribbles and notes.
I am not done with my changes.

GPOYW I think putting me in the university’s prospectus is a terrible idea, but they’re doing it anyway Edition
God, my eyes get so small when I laugh. I’m all cheek.
GPOYW In the mausoleums behind Aya Sofya in Istanbul edition.
I miss Istanbul! I’ve been buried with work since I got back, but I’ve been drinking lots of apple tea, and having people over for Turkish coffee. I really wish I could’ve explored more of Turkey. It’s definitely somewhere I want to return to in the near future.
GPOYW Goofing around in the courtyard of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul edition.
I know I’ve posted a lot of random pictures today, but this is the last one, I promise! I actually really like this one because it looks like how I felt.

Once I turned eighteen, I swapped my glasses for contacts and since then, I very rarely wear my glasses. It was more a switch of convenience (being able to see while I shower, while in the rain or fog, etc) rather than vanity (although, considering my prescription distorts how my eyes look through my glasses, that was factored in too). But when I’m ill or I’ve got a migrane, sometimes it helps to wear glasses for a few days. I want to just curl up at home, but I’ve got to dash to a lecture. Boo.
