Some books I bought a while back that I didn’t post. I do that relatively often, but I really like these so:
A Life Like Other People’s by Alan Bennett
To Freedom Condemned by Jean-Paul Sartre
This Isn’t The Sort of Thing That Happens to Someone Like You by Jon McGregor
Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons
Seventh Heaven by Alice Hoffman
Fever Chart by Bill Cotter
Bowl of Cherries by Millard Kaufman
These were actually all bought in secondhand shops except for the new McGregor. I bought a fair few of them in Any Amount of Books in London, and a couple up in Scotland. The Bennett is signed, which is nice, and I found those two McSweeney’s far too cheaply and was chuffed. And I’m always very happy to find a reasonably-priced Folio Society edition in a secondhand shop, so I bought Cold Comfort Farm pretty quickly.
