I lived here for four years. I was unhappy a lot of the time. I also made a lot of amazing friends. I learnt an extraordinary amount about life.
It wasn’t until I left it, after making an enormous effort to make things go right that I realised it became home.
I’m home and I miss my home. It’s a weird thing, and I wonder if it will ever disappear. I don’t think so. It’s hard to feel like you belong two places at once — one where you feel you should be, and one where people want you to be.
